I want to wish you a Merry Christmas, want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a \u2026.<\/p>\n

Oh no, we are not quite there. We still have a week left from this year. The year that went by so fast.
\nFeels like we are on a roller coaster ride, the one that is real scary, going faster and faster and don’t seem to be able to get off.
\nToo old to enjoy this speed. Want to slow down\u2026:)<\/p>\n

Now, that is why we have vacations, holidays I believe. Like ski vacation, Easter holidays, the long summer break and my all time favourite, Christmas time.<\/p>\n

And so it is Christmas\u2026.<\/p>\n

Writing you this in Madeira, the sun is still shining brightly, all the terrace doors open\u2026not quite Christmassy.<\/p>\n

Got a real lovely tree standing next to the fireplace (firehazard \ud83d\ude42 ), stocked up on food to be cooked for tomorrow.<\/p>\n

2 bottles of Quinta do Carmo and a Baileys chilling in the freezer. All set.<\/p>\n

It came as a shock to A that even here the shops, malls and restaurants will be closed on the 25th. Like in all normal places.<\/p>\n

Though we will still go out tonight, not something we would normally do back home.<\/p>\n

We do the exact opposite of normal\u2026<\/p>\n

Going on a walk, admiring the view from Pico do Ariero, having coffee at the Ritz, sunbathing on the sheltered terrace of the villa and posting gorgeous sunset photos on the Instagram.<\/p>\n

My son is kicking the ball with an ice cream in his hand, my Mum is discovering the wonders of being able to post her photos on\u00a0Facebook ( She got an\u00a0\u00a0early Christmas present from A , a new phone ), and A is on the sofa watching TV.<\/p>\n

Now, maybe he is the only one who sticks to his routine even on Christmas Eve. Nothing ever changes.<\/p>\n

Maybe just me.<\/p>\n

With a heart so full of joy, hope and happiness, wishing you a Merry Christmas!<\/p>\n

May you spend your holidays with the ones you truly love, may your wishes and dreams come true!<\/p>\n
