Eggs and porridge, we are a boring bunch. Highlight of my trip was going to to get some books.
Luckily my son shares my love for books. So glad that I insisted on bedtime stories, later on reading every single day till he got the hang of it and was hooked for life.
So much so that at year 3 in his school he was the first one to reach library stage even though he is not a native speaker.
Bought some amazing gardening books, the latest one about the life of Piet Oudolf, a favourite garden designer. I heard about him the first time from my lovely neighbour, now that’s just one more thing we have in common.
Since this was basically a shopping trip, we continued in Selfridges, Marks&Spencer, just a few things for Madeira.
Would have liked to buy some really sexy lingerie but didn’t want to get into a discussion about it with ex. (For who, why, where etc.😊 )
We promised Mishal a walk around in Covent Garden, so we did. By then we were hot and tired with new blisters on my foot. So crowded, I don’t recall seeing this many people before.
We were way past our 10000 a day steps, so decided to stop at the Oyster bar. Tiny portions but delicious. The oyster tempura was great! After lunch we headed home, just had a quick stop at the bookstore to pick up our books.
The rest of the day we spent at the hotel room, reading, talking, eating.
We tried room service. They’ve supposed to charge an extra fee for delivery. Luckily they didn’t. What did they expect? Go and pick up our dishes from the kitchen ourselves? I had the most amazing kale salad and they say that English food is boring!😊
Ex went out to watch Argentina play against Chile, while we fooled around with Mishal.

Packed, talked, even watched the 4th of July fireworks from our terrace. Had time to chat, uploaded some photos to the Instagram, a nice relaxing way to end our trip to London.
We haven’t seen all the sights (we did it already before after all),but it was a lovely stay.
Tried a totally different hotel, different location and we did enjoy the food immensely.

Would have liked to watch a few shows, must come back alone for those in the near future. Promised a trip back for our son too, after all he must see Oxford and Cambridge for himself. Only 9 years to. No pressure my son!!!

4th of July Imagine all the fireworks if we were in the States today!
